Kids will be kids

Well, it rained really hard the other day. Our back yard gets puddles from up the hill. It's quite frustrating to me, but my kids apparently love it. Eva and Gabe both went outside the other morning and had a great time. Eva started taking off all her clothes (which is what she's best at). I told her she had to keep at least her panties on and she said, "ok mommy". Then I let them both go out in the backyard and get dirty. It didn't take long for me to look outside and see that Eva was completely naked. I guess she decided to wash her panties in the puddle.

I think this is my favorite picture of Gabe. He picked up Eva's underware and started swinging it around his head. The water from the panties was flying everywhere.

I had to put this picture on here because it reminded me of a similar picture of me as a child. I have a picture of my brother David and I standing side by side in little white buckets filled with water. I was in a swimming suit and he was only in a diaper. I love that picture because it brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. We always played outside and didn't need the top of the line blow up swimming pools to have a good time. My mom let us get dirty and just be kids.

As much as Eva loves to be naked, she will also dress up and put on everything she's got. She is wearing shorts, a tank top, a too-too skirt, a white slip, a hat and a bandana all at the same time. I love that she can be so tomboyish one minute and a complete pre-madona the next.

Our fun day in Charleston...where the sun kills your skin!

Pay attention to what Hans is doing...reading a text book for school. Crazy, dedicated man. He was supposed to be watching the kids...

Gabe was having such a great time. He kept putting his entire face in the water.

My two hotties.

Eva is our sand girl. She loves the beach!

After a long day at the beach. Ever since that day (which was on tuesday) my skin has been killing me. I got the worst sunburn. It is now becoming very itchy. Hopefully in the very near future, I will finally grow up and learn my lesson. Lesson number 1: APPLY SUNCREEN TO SKIN

The long awaited post

We had some friends over for dinner the other day. While we were talking and not paying attention, this is what happened. Somehow, Eva snuck the sour cream out of the fridge and decided to share with Gabe. The two of them were found in the living room chowin' down. My kids have got to be the weirdest kids ever. Who eats sour cream plain? Sick!

This is our family. We bought the armoire off of craigs list for $325. It's sold wood and extremely heavy. I really like it. The TV is in there and the doors slide open and back.

This is our formal living room. I'm not done with this room. We need some curtains and a few other things, but I'm making progress. I need Chelsey to hurry up and get here so she can help me do some finishing touches.

The outside of the house isn't much to look at...especially with the garbage in the front. I had houses with the garage in the front, but that's how they all are here unless you are willing to spend in the upper 300,000's or more.

Hans is in the process of putting a fence in our backyard. After that we have to work on getting some grass in. No one out here has good grass. It's all very sandy and lots of red ants. I do love having a deck. Too bad we don't have a matching patio set, but I'm not spending that much money on one right now. They are crazy expensive!

I love my table. I need two more chairs for it, but I'm very happy with it. It takes up too much room in that kitchen, but it works. I'm grateful for all my cuboard space. We also have a half bathroom on the wall to the right of the table. On the right side of the fridge, we have a pantry and a closet. The garage is also to the right. I don't have pictures of the upstairs yet because I'm not done up there. I'm a slacker.

Our happenings in South Carolina

We went to the Zoo here in Columbia and were pleasantly surprised. It was a great zoo. It was a fun place and the kids had a blast.

One night we walked along Lake Murray. It's a huge lake with beautiful homes along parts of it.

Last weekend, we went to a fair here in Northeast Columbia. They had a petting zoo and lots of fun festivities. The kids loved to pet the animals.

Gabriel trying to climb into the cage with the lama (at least I think that's a lama). He has no fear with any kind of animal. Neither does Eva for that matter.

Eva was smart. I didn't pay for the food you can feed the animals so she would just pick up all the ones that the other kids would drop on the ground and feed the animals with that.
