"I uh mess"

The other day, I had put Gabe down for a nap and turned on a kid show for Eva so I could have a shower by myself for once. After I got done getting dressed, I came down to check on Eva. This is how I found her.

My first instinct was to kill her. I wanted to scream so bad but as soon as I opened my mouth to yell at her she just smiled really big and said "I uh mess" and gave me another smile with a cute laugh. She was so proud of herself. So, instead of screaming, I had to run out of the room so she wouldn't see me laugh my head off. Of course, the funnies wore off as soon as I had to clean her up. This nestle chocolate mix was completely full when she got it down from the pantry and when I grabbed it from her, it was completely empty.
The problem was this: I didn't have time to be cleaning this all up. I had to take the kids to the doctor and I was going to be late already. So, I picked her up very carefully so the powder wouldn't get all over the carpet (even though it was already all over) and I made her stand on the deck outside. I then turned on the hose and sprayed her down. I had to leave the mess on the floor and couch for when I got home. What a crazy child I have.

How can she be such a stinker and still look so adorable covered in chocolate powder, huh? -Jen

My daughter is obsessed with these pictures! She keeps asking me, "is that little girl naughty? Is she in bad trouble? What is she wearing? Will it ever be clean again?" and scrolls through the pictures. I hope she doesn't get any ideas from Eva!

Ha! That is so funny. I would be so mad. She really is so cute, how could you ever be mad at her?! ;)

It's so refreshing seeing that kids besides my own get into trouble too! Excellent picture! Just think of all the ways you can use this picture when Eva is a teenager!

I love this. It is so dang funny. And even funnier that it's not my children this time. This same exact thing happened with Ovaltine and 2 of my boys while I was gone and Jason was home on the computer and wasn't watching Brenden and Jared. There was chocolate everywhere. I have a scrapbook page dedicated to it. I will have to scan it and show it to you, it's almost exactly like this. I'm laughing my head off.
Glad you got pictures, it helps ease the pain of being mad and frustrated when you have to clean it all up.

Oh man - what a mess! This reminds me of Jess and his "tyrup" mess all over the house. But I figured if I took a picture he'd think it was funny and I definitely didn't want him to try other funny things.
However, it would have been a good picture - syrup oozing down around the piano keys, syrup ozzing down the sides of the couch, all over the floor and everywhere else you could see.
I think every mother has to have something like this happen - it's kind of an initation. Welcome to the club!

Sure glad she didn't have a glass of milk with that too! That probably took a vacuum bag or two to get up, eh? She is so adorable, even as a Nestle's chocolate princess!
