Our fun thanksgiving

Here are some of my friends that were able to come to my house for thanksgiving. From left to right: Elaina Bishop, Lisa Terhune, and Erica Lott (the volleyball player from BYU). We had four adults and 11 children. My other friend Sarah was going to come over too, but she got the flu and was throwing up, so we just had her two girls over. It was such a nice thanksgiving.

I made the best turkey I've ever eaten in my life. It was so tender it just melted off the bone. We had my neighbor come over and carve it because none of us knew how and we had no men here to help out. I forgot to take a picture of the turkey before it was cut, but here's what it looked like after. Lisa made the rolls and they were just like mom's. They were fabulous. I made the turkey, two pies, stuffing from scratch, which I've never done before, and mashed potatoes with stuff in them. They were really good.

It looks great! I love there there are more pies than adults. I hope it was a great day.

Holy cow, that food looks delicious. I'm eating thanksgiving leftovers for lunch today. I love this holiday!

Man, what a feast!! Looks like you outdid yourself with this Thanksgiving. Doing your own meal is a great experience because you learn how to get it all done and all hot at the same time and that's tricky.
I'm so glad you had a wonderful day.
I talked to Diane Denison the other night - she told me I have a "magnificent" daughter. I told her that I already knew that. :)

Now I'm really sad that I couldn't make it over there for Thanksgiving like I wanted to do!! Looks like you had a fantastic time. How did you make your turkey so well?? It looks delicious. And did I spot a blueberry cream cheese pie? ;)

yep. That sure was a blueberry cream cheese pie. I actually made two of them. We had so many leftovers. I brined the turkey the night before and then cooked it on 500 degrees for 45 minutes, then covered just the breast with tinfoil and turned the temp down to 325 for five hours. It was so tender. I stuffed the turkey with one stick of butter, purple onion, carrot, and celery. I baisted it once. It was wonderful. The outside was crisp and perfect. I'm bragging, I know, but you would too if you tried this turkey.

Yummy! What a great cook you are! I've never even attempted to make stuffing from scratch. And the turkey looks great! Yeah for me you're coming to my house next year right? You get to cook...;)
